> 98% Accuracy! Results in 10 seconds! No Messy Staining!

The CaviSense Toothpick color-changing is based on localized pH-sensing.

The CaviSense Toothpick tip changes color within 10 seconds of contacting a tooth surface with a pH < 5.5 indicative of active demineralization.

The CaviSense Toothpick was developed for clinicians in the labs of Harvard and Tufts universities.

It is quick, safe and easy to use.

The CaviSense Toothpick is especially helpful for interproximal surfaces:
  • To detect when x-rays are unclear or hard to obtain
  • To monitor the success of remineralization efforts
  • To help differentiate between active and arrested lesions

Step 1:

Start quickly!

  • Easily prep the tooth surface with the CaviSense Chewy. Chew and swallow normally.
  • Alternatively, apply the CaviSense solution with a microbrush.
  • Proceed to test. No need to wait.

Step 2:

Place the CaviSense Toothpick on the targeted tooth surface and maintain contact for 10 seconds.

  • The CaviSense Toothpick paper tip absorbs a sample of the plaque biofilm of the targeted tooth surface.
  • Use 1 CaviSense Toothpick for each tooth surface to be tested.
  • Use the CaviSense viewing tray to organize toothpicks during test administration.

Step 3:

Record the results of the color-changing / pH-sensing tips:

  • The pH-sensing tips will change colors in the first 30 seconds after administering the test.
  • Yellow = High risk for active tooth demineralization.
  • Purple = Low risk for active tooth demineralization.
  • Optimize your care plan based on the results.
